Let's talk about being a blonde for a moment. It's a color I always end up going back to. You know what they say, blondes have more fun, well, only if they take really good care of their hair!
Below are 12 steps to keep your blonde looking it's best. You'll find links to some of my favorite products that are used in the salon and by me, your fellow blondie.
Keep your hair hydrated.
Protect it from heat sources, curling iron, flat irons and hair dryers in particular.
Use leave in heat protection.
Stay out of the sun.
Do a treatment weekly to add back missing protein or moisture.
Don't overuse purple shampoo. Once every couple weeks should be enough.
Add a bond builder to your regimen.
Don't skip haircuts.
Use a shower filter.
Use dry shampoo on non wash days.
Add a little shine and repair with a clear oil.
Know that you'll need a gloss/toner about every 6-8 weeks.
Schedule an in salon treatment for the most luxurious conditioning treatment that will leave your hair and soul feeling amazing.
Use cool water when shampooing and conditioning. I know you may not like it, but it really does help your hair color fade less than using hot water.
